boats and ships, to infinity

This week I’ve taken a break from linocutting – one of the fiddliest hobbies mankind ever invented – to concentrate on a medium I loved dearly at school, collage. And as I’m now forced to recall, collage is in fact the fiddliest hobby mankind ever invented.

See what you think anyway. The theme I’ve gone with is ships and boats. Here’s the first one, which I’m most pleased with…


And then here’s another one I did just this morning, which is a little bit less structured and perhaps a bit abstract. I started off trying to just adhere to horizontal and vertical lines only, but soon gave that up as the form took shape…


They certainly took a while, but it was definitely good to get back behind the scissors after so long. Hope you like them.
